Gwynne Price is an extremely funny character and although he is short tempered and irrational, cynical and sarcastic, and sometimes just plain nasty, he is one of the most loved characters that make the show so good to watch.

 

Gwynne went to grammar school and is very intelligent even though he doesn't seem it.

 

He is a cynical and sarcastic and uses 'big words' to help him belittle people, sometimes typical of a man from the valleys who pretends to know everything or sounds as if he knows everything but does't really!

 

Randy describes him in "From Here To Maternity" as "A cynical disillusioned depressive, who's failed to fulfill his potential and realise his dreams".

 

Gwynne is a typical example of an over-reacting male. He avoids work at all costs and doesn't know anything as far as women are concerned. He also treats his father with no respect at all, although they do have their "father and son" moments. But his weaknesses are what makes him the great character to watch, he is incredibly funny.
